Ingredients for chicken coating:-
All purpose flour 1/2 cup
🌽 Corn flour 1/3 cup
Baking powder 1 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Chilled water 3 tbsp
Oil 2 little. (for fry)
Sweet & Sour Ingredients:-
Ketchup 3/4 cup
White vinegar 1/2 cup
Sugar 1/3 cup (3 tbsp)
Soy sauce 1 tsp
Method
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken cubes in a mixing bowl. Add salt, black pepper, garlic, soy sauce, egg, cornflour, and all-purpose flour Corn flour Mix everything well until the chicken pieces are evenly coated. Let the chicken rest for about 1 hour.
Step 2: Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a frying pan or wok over medium heat. Fry the marinated chicken pieces until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove them and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Step 3: Prepare the Sauce
Heat a small amount of oil in another pan. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes.
Add ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, chili sauce, sugar, and water. Stir well and cook the sauce for 2–3 minutes until everything is combined.
Step 4: Thicken the Sauce
Mix cornflour and water in a small bowl to make a slurry. Pour it into the sauce while stirring. The sauce will start to thicken and become glossy.
Step 5: Combine Chicken and Sauce
Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss well so that every piece is coated. If you like, add pineapple chunks for extra sweetness and flavor.
Cook for another 1–2 minutes and turn off the heat.
